The Beach Café – Kitchen Extract Upgrade

Monument was appointed to upgrade the kitchen ventilation system at The Beach Café, ensuring safer, more efficient extraction to support the existing cooking equipment. The project involved a full strip‑out of the old canopy, fan, wall units, and suspended ceiling before installing a new, high‑performance stainless‑steel extract system. A 1750mm stainless‑steel canopy with integrated 2ft LED lighting was fitted, complete with new splashback panels and all supporting steelwork. We installed a 250mm high‑temperature extract fan, new ductwork routed through the external soffit, and a speed‑controlled system for improved airflow management. To balance the extract, a 6-inch filtered air intake system was added, including an egg‑crate grille, inline fan, filter box, and new ducting above the ceiling. Once all ventilation works were complete, a new suspended ceiling was installed to suit the revised layout. This upgrade significantly improves airflow and extraction performance within the kitchen, supporting a safer and more comfortable working environment for café staff.
