Cults Academy – Servery Counter Upgrade

Monument was appointed to deliver a full refurbishment and service upgrade to the servery area at Cults Academy, supporting the installation of a new counter layout and improving the overall functionality of the space. Working from the supplied design, our team managed the strip‑out, multi‑trade installation, and final preparation required to bring the new servery into operation. The works began with isolating existing services and removing the old counter, suspended ceiling, and flooring. We then installed new white hygiene wall cladding, complete with timber strapping and trims, to create a durable and easy‑clean finish behind the servery. The flooring was fully prepared, primed, and screeded before fitting Altro Walkway 20 safety flooring, including cove formers and welded joints for a seamless, hygienic surface. Electrical and plumbing services were reconfigured to suit the new counter layout, including new radial circuits, upgraded distribution board components, and revised water and waste pipework. Existing lighting was refitted to suit the new ceiling arrangement. Ventilation improvements were carried out by replacing the existing duct outlets, adding an additional ceiling grille, and connecting the system back into the main ductwork while maintaining compatibility with the fire alarm shutdown system. A new bulkhead structure was built to support six SWS Seceuroshield 38 aluminium roller shutters, providing secure closure for the servery. Final works included minor decoration repairs, builders’ clean, and assistance with positioning new servery units and equipment. The result is a refreshed, compliant, and fully serviced servery area ready to support improved food service delivery within the school.
